"Construction Site, with Plover"
TITLE - "Construction Site, with Plover"
WHERE - Construction Site, Port Coquitlam, British Columbia (2016)
When I recall this forlorn scene as I found it - a solitary plover was picking its way across the lifeless mud flats of a thoroughly blasted-out construction site in the intense silence of a dense morning fog - what my mind hears is the bleak, otherworldly, even post-apocalyptic Epilogue of the Sixth Symphony by Ralph Vaughn-Williams, composed during the final days of World War II.
