Ferris Wheel Gestalt
To help make sense of an image, the viewer strives unconsciously by reflex to understand his own spacial position in orientation to whatever he's looking at. In this case, the spokes of a carnival ferris wheel tease the eye because they're photographed and presented from an angle that makes it harder to pin down the viewer's location - are we looking down upon the structure from some position in the air, or are we looking upward at the wheel from the ground or some side angle?
