"For My Father"
My father, the sculptor and writer Roy Paul Madsen, originally began his art career as a draftsman and wildlife painter of exceptional craft, having invented his own meticulous technique to create what he dubbed "coloured scratch-board engravings" etched into dramatic, jet-black backgrounds. This image, a tribute to my father's artistry, echoes the style and luminous effect of his early work.
