TITLE - "Majority Rule"

ABOUT THE GALLERY, US AND THEM
The thrill of unity, the dread of groupthink, the catastrophe of majority rule. As someone who has felt like an outsider - or, at least, as not "one of the boys" - for all of his life, I find the universal impulse to separate sheep from goats and exalt the stronger or prettier of the two an odious and block-headed exercise, like raving in the stands of any arena. Plainly, our species disagrees.
"In a nation of one hundred fine, mob-hearted, lynching, relenting, repenting millions,/ There are plenty of sweeping, swinging, stinging, gorgeous things to shout about,/ And knock your old blue devils out." - Vachel Lindsay, "Bryan, Bryan, Bryan, Bryan - The Campaign of Eighteen Ninety Six, as Viewed at the Time by a Sixteen-Year-Old, Etc."
