"Martyrdom of Saint Alleyway"
Searching for photo subjects after midnight, I came across this peculiar effigy painted in a narrow, shadowy and unnamed alley separating two dingy old buildings on a Paris side street. I would guess that this is the artist himself, his talent pitiably sacrificed in this barren, nowhere place. In a darkening agony of neglect, the painter here is praying to draw at least one witness to his miraculous ordeal. And somehow, through the grace of his muse, he finds one. Or two, counting you.
