You may be interested to compare this alienated image of metallic, golden cabbage leaves with the "realist" image from which it was adapted, which you will find in the "Traditional Beauty/Garden Life" collection of this site. Each of these images manifests a distinct integrity and persuasiveness, not because each is real (one of them clearly is an artistic invention) but because each is beautiful in similar ways and in roughly equal measure. That said, is the "real" interpretation still more valid, more beautiful to you? Why insist on that?
