"Nowhere - Snowy Thicket"
The most alarming thing about an encounter with deep forest, for me, is to stand before a thicket's countless, constituting life forms and concede that one can never know any more than a few of them as recognizable individuals. And thus the lives of all the rest, so driven and vital, burst forth and then shrivel almost instantaneously over geologic time, unremarked by anyone, at best framed in our memory as mere glints in the woods as we, too, passed so quickly by, unremembered.
