Painting "Red Field (after Monet)" by Hunter Madsen

"Red Field (after Monet)"

Claude Monet (1840-1926) finished his pleasant countryside painting, "Poppies," in 1873.  The canvas, which depicts his wife Camille and son Jean making their carefree way across a field near Argenteuil, France, has been a top-seller ever since the advent of low-cost printing techniques and college dorm walls in cinder-block. Here I have endeavoured to entice the poster manufacturers at and thereby fund the rest of my career by outperforming Monet's painting handily in terms of sangfroid and absolute poppy count. (Note: this image was originally a snapshot of daisies - so ordinary.)
