"Sacred and Profane (Speedboats for Christ)"

In how we shape our day-to-day lives, we instinctively push to maximize and somehow to reconcile, if not actually to integrate, two priorities in mutual tension: spirit and mammon.  We strive to gratify our own competitive ego and obtain base worldly pleasures for ourselves, on the one hand, while we also aspire to selflessness, restraint, and spiritual elevation, on the other. Good luck with that.
