"Stone Surge" by Hunter Madsen

"Stone Surge"

We make beauty from chaos by many means, and not just intellectual ones. Since the dawn of imagination, we have undertaken ventures into physical restraint of natural forces, sometimes simply to improve the look of things.
Here we observe a practical upgrade, a tumble of rocks exfoliating on the hillside above a roadway, held back by bolted steel netting.

So which do you enjoy more - seeing the surge of rock, churning like the sea in a chasm, or the veil that cloaks this chaos and suggests its containment? Or maybe both forces in titanic equipoise, faced off like gladiatorial mace and net?
